On the third day, God gathered the waters under the dome so that dry land would appear and He brought forth every kind of living plant and vegetation from the dry land. By the forming of dry land the soul begins to do the first work that brings forth life. It is the period of Righteousness and what St. John of the Cross describes as the time of the senses. While there is an abundance of life that comes forth, we know that greater life is yet to come.
