It is not merely that we (I) believe that there is a god who exists. Our statement in the Creed begins with the recognition both that there is One God, and He is identified as the Father Almighty. Our Creed is also about who He is and what He has revealed about Himself to us. He is a God who is Father, that is, close and intimate and not distant from us. He is the Father from whom the image of fatherhood comes. He is Creator, that like any ordinary creator, creation comes forth from His very self and is a revelation of who He is. And the Creator of all things. There is nothing, either visible or invisible that did not come from Him.
