St. Raphael Family Resource Center

About
Named after the Archangel Raphael, patron of families, couples, healing, and vocations, The Family Resource Center aims to provide physical and digital resources, programs and facilities to aid families in living a life of Christian Faith and raising their children in our Faith.
Beginning in 2024, we primarily focus on making quality and orthodox resources available and providing a common place for meetings and groups. Our hope is to provide families and individuals the support they need in living out the promises of Christ.
St. Mary's Library
Due to current renovation the Library is not currently accessible. We anticipate it being back up for use in October or November. Located in the Ministry Center the Library presently offers a variety of print resources for individual faith enrichment and families for teaching their children. The content of the Library can be accessed through the Book Buddy app and searching for St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Independence).
Formed
St. Mary’s provides a membership to Formed from the Augustine Institute to all registered families. This can be accessed online, through www.formed.org, or visit the Formed App on your mobile device. When signing up, look for “St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Independence.”
MyParish
Through the MyParish App, available from your mobile device, you can access features like recorded presentations, traditional prayers, podcasts (i.e. Catholic Mom, Bishop Robert Barron, Inspire Daily, and more).
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Often known as CGS, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based approach to religious education. St. Mary’s currently provides Level I CGS group for 3-6 year old children.
CGS provides your child with a place to develop their innate relationship with God. They get to work hands-on with materials, and are taught about the Bible and the Liturgy.
We are looking to expand our offering of CGS to also include Levels II and III in the next few years. If you are a currently trained Catechist or interested in training to become a CGS Catechist, please contact Fr. Kendall or the Parish Office for more information.
